United Bank & Trust Co. truly represents its name.  Originally the Citizens Bank of Midway, it was chartered by the General Assembly in 1880. In 1942 Citizens Bank of Midway united with Commercial Bank (1942) and six years later merged with the Harris-Sellers Bank and Trust Company.  With these unions, the name was changed to United Bank. In 1985, we joined the Farmers Capital Bank Corporation family of Frankfort, Kentucky. That allows us to retain our name, our local Board of Directors as well as our lending decisions while providing us greater strength in our services to our customers.  The rich heritage of both entities has served us well as we grow into the 21^st Century.

Our motto is “United With Woodford County”; our employees reflect that in their community endeavors such as the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, Walk America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, various civic and charitable organizations, and our local churches.
